Yesterday evening – Moses Sipos, a cadet from 1114 (Gosforth) Squadron, was promoted to Sergeant from his own doorstep. Pilot Officer Watson made the unique promotion amidst the unusual circumstances of cadet life which has continued through online conference and training following lockdown.
The newly promoted Sergeant Sipos will find his leadership responsibilities increased when returning to the squadron, assisting the staff with the training and development of cadets and junior NCOs.
In just 3 years, Moses has participated in many aspects of a fulfilling cadets experience - he has: attended camps on RAF Bases, flown RAF aircraft, gained leadership qualifications, passed examinations on STEM subjects, proven himself amongst the top 100 shooters in the Cadet forces, and grown into a confident and capable young man.
His mother, Hannah, proudly helped Moses change his rank slides. Congratulations, Sergeant Moses Sipos.
1114 (Gosforth) Squadron aims to provide young people from the local area with a wide range of opportunities and experiences such as flying, gliding, adventure training, and target shooting which lead them towards gaining life long skills and recognised awards such as BTEC qualifications and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.
